Interior Designer Notes On This New Construction Project

This new construction interior design project required design assistance from beginning to end.  Kitchen cabinets, granite, and backsplash paint for the entire home as well as new furnishings with furniture floor plan layout were all part of this new residential home.  We chose dining chairs in a large geometric two-tone coral and white fabric design. The round dining table from John Thomas Select opens to a rectangular shape to seat eight people.  Hunter Douglas plantation shutters in a café style in the white finish were added to the dining area bay window for additional privacy while dining.

Our client wanted a swivel glider she could curl up in.  A swivel glider club chair was made with a matching ottoman and upholstered in a taupe, and white paisley pattern design to complement the taupe textured upholstered fabric on the sofa and loveseat in the room.  The client’s existing coffee table, sofa table, and end tables were used in this family room layout design.  A soft yellow high-back club chair with a distressed pecan leg finish was added to accent the colors used in this space, contrasted with the coral throw pillows and coral dining chairs in the adjacent dining area.  Accent table lamps were added in a distressed cracked finish with linen shades.

  • The cabinets are maple with a dark cherry finish.

  • The two-tone pedestal dining table has a base cherry finish and tabletop paint in an aged beach white finish.

  • The family room wall color is Alexandria Beige. The sofa is skirted, and the love seat is a sock arm style.

  • This kitchen has new golden beach granite countertops and tumbled stone backsplash, and the appliances are by Bosch.
