5 Day In-Person Interior Design & Decorating Course

This course emphasizes the ability to learn to create aesthetically pleasing spaces through design theory and the methodology and practices taught through hands-on exercises, client interaction, and vendor resources.

Objectives: As a result of the course, you will be able to:

• Begin your own interior design business

• Learn how to conduct and perform a professional interior design consultation in person with real clients.

• Learn how to choose paint color and conduct a professional paint consultation in person with real clients.

• Create and open trade accounts (once you open your business with proper documentation)

• Learn to measure a space to create client floor plans and for ordering furnishings.

• Learn to measure for window treatments.

• Create to-scale furniture placement floor plans through certain software programs.

• Properly photograph your design through the use of your iPhone and editing apps.

• Join as a member of the Design for Today Collaborative private Facebook group through invitation only.

• Join professional trade memberships such as the Interior Design Society

• Field trip to the Boston Design Center. Learn how to navigate trade showrooms, open trade accounts, and acquire samples for client projects.
